{"id":2170,"date":"2020-10-07T12:40:18","date_gmt":"2020-10-07T10:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.iscrsymposium.com\/?post_type=etn&#038;p=2170"},"modified":"2020-10-19T18:26:40","modified_gmt":"2020-10-19T16:26:40","slug":"sustainable-cocoa-and-climate-change","status":"publish","type":"etn","link":"https:\/\/iscrsymposium.org\/es\/etn\/sustainable-cocoa-and-climate-change\/","title":{"rendered":"Sustainable Cocoa and Climate Change: The way forward through Mitigation and Adaptation"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Description<\/h3>\n<p>The ISCR2 will be organized over a three-day period, from 27-29 September 2021 covering plenary and breakout sessions.<br \/>\nThe programme will be developed to respond to key problematics and issues faced by the cocoa sector and especially improving the living conditions of cocoa farmers.<\/p>\n<p>Main theme: \u201c<em><strong>Innovations to support market development and promote the sustainability of cocoa farming for better farmers\u2019 income<\/strong><\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<h5>Researchers will have to present the results of their work based on the topics proposed.<\/h5>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>During this event we\u2019ll cover<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Renewable energy, clean water, health, food security and improved nutrition for the cocoa farmers<\/li>\n<li>Impact of climate changes on cocoa farming, on the spatial repartition of cocoa zones in the world<\/li>\n<li>Rescue, characterisation and exploitation of biodiversity for varietal creation in a context of climate change<\/li>\n<li>Diversification techniques (other crops, non-farm activities) &#8211; environnemental and economic perspective<\/li>\n<li>Agroforestry, sylvo-pasture, aquaculture techniques (agronomy, ecology and the economics thereof)<\/li>\n<li>Reforestation \/Afforestation programmes<\/li>\n<li>Payments for Environmental Services (PES): myths and reality<\/li>\n<li>Landscape approach<\/li>\n<li>Training and capacity building on climate smart agriculture techniques<\/li>\n<li>Climate information and surveillance systems<\/li>\n<li>Other new climate adaptation techniques; energy efficient technologies along the value chain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Description The ISCR2 will be organized over a three-day period, from 27-29 September 2021 covering plenary and breakout sessions.
